In August, 2004, in virtual magazine has been published an article Emedicine of doctors D.V.Smith and S.V.Smith in which together all data on influence of smoking on a skin. We will result most essential facts from this article. Smoking leads to delay of healing of wounds For the first time, the data that at smoking people wounds is worse heal, have been received Mosley and Finseth in 1977. Their supervision were liability many subsequent researches. For example, Goldminz and Bennet (Arch. Dermatol., 1991) have tracked for engraftment 916 skin micrografts and rags and have found out that at those patients who smoked on the average 1 pack in day, necrosis (tearing away and necrosis than fabrics) were three times more often, than at non-smoking people. At those who smoked two packs in day, necrosis happened in 6 times more often. Most likely, the reason of the slowed down healing of wounds consists that nicotine causes narrowing of vessels that leads to oxygen starvation of fabrics (healing of wounds demands good blood supply). Besides, the tobacco smoke causes formation carboxyhemoglobin in vessels that in addition worsens skin breath. It is necessary to consider that the narrowing of vessels caused by nicotine, keeps long enough – till 90 minutes after one cigarette. It means that the person smoking with an interval in an hour and a half, creates permanent oxygen starvation in a skin.
